Dr. Richard Carmona is the former Surgeon General of the United States, serving from 2002–2006. A combat-decorated US Army Special Forces Vietnam veteran, Dr. Carmona went on to start and direct Arizona’s first regional trauma care system for the Tucson Medical Center and the University of Arizona.
